1798 - FAMILY FRIENDLY ON BLUE HILL BAY

Situated 20 feet from Morgan’s Bay at the end of a long, private road with no through traffic, "1798" provides rustic luxury and a safe area for children and pets. The first floor includes a modern kitchen, living room, and dining room, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay. There is a mudroom /playroom as well as a laundry area. Also on the first floor is the master bedroom suite with large windows and a stunning view of the bay. There are three functioning fireplaces on the first floor. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

On the water side of the house is a 50-foot deck with spectacular 180-degree views, an outdoor dining area and spacious seating area. There is a propane grill and large propane burner for cooking lobsters. Enjoy your favorite beverage on the deck while watching the passing schooners and lobster boats, with visits from bald eagles, osprey and seals.

The house sets on a hill and has a finished, above-ground basement on the water side with large windows and panoramic views. There is a large, sunny game room with a 65-inch TV, fooseball table, with many games and toys. There is also a full bathroom, laundry room with washer, dryer, sink and ironing area.

Behind the house facing the bay is an enclosed swimming pool with stone patio and seating area. A solar cover helps warm the water.

"1798" is child friendly. One of the bedrooms has a bunk bed plus twin bed, and an outdoor playground has swings, slides, a tower and a sandbox.

Located a mile from East Blue Hill Village, 5 miles from Blue Hill Village, and 13 miles from the larger (small) city of Ellsworth, guests have easy access to grocery stores, many choices for dining out, and a variety of small shops and galleries to explore. Curtis Cove, a popular swimming spot, is a beautiful half mile walk, and Blue Hill Heritage Trust maintains beautiful walking and hiking trails throughout the area. Acadia National Park is less than an hour's drive away.
